I have been working as a clinical therapist for more than 13 years, and previously worked in community social services with individuals experiencing homelessness and severe persistent mental illness. My years of work in the mental health field has taught me that a successful therapeutic relationship relies on building trust while seeking to understand my patients' points of view. In my previous therapy and social work roles, this belief has remained at the center of my work. As a therapist, I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults with a variety of presenting concerns. Areas of particular specialty are: anxiety disorders, PTSD, and depression. I also have considerable experience working with ADD/ADHD, adjustment disorders and life transitions, grief, chronic pain, sleep disturbances, substance abuse, and serious and persistent mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I utilize a variety of techniques, drawn from a foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): exposure therapy, trauma focused-CBT, cognitive processing therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, hypnosis, and mindfulness. My choice in therapy style is individualized to help you meet your goals.
