Scott Symes, Psy.D – Dr. Scott Symes is a Licensed Psychologist in Missouri, along with multiple states for telehealth (see below). He is also Director of Mental Health Services for Rejuvenate. He completed his doctoral work at Forest Institute of Professional Psychology (2002). He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Missouri Southern State University (1996). Throughout Dr. Symes’ training he has been keenly interested in the effect the mind has on the body. His speciality areas are Anxiety and Relational Trauma. Philosophy: “Cognitive Therapy is based on working to see reality clearly, because thoughts are not facts. Most of the people who come to see me are in a state of identity crisis – meaning that they are looking to change something about who they are, or aspects of their life. I work hard to help each individual become more empowered, to take control and to become the person they want to be.” Dr. Symes loves results and is a very active therapist, educating, teaching skills, and giving homework. Dr. Symes believes that therapy is like learning to play an instrument – “you must practice outside the therapy session if you are going to achieve results.” Dr. Symes is certified in Cognitive Therapy, with extensive training in Anxiety Management and Trauma. His main interest areas are all forms of anxiety, relational trauma, identity change, LGBTQ+ allied, and psychological evaluation (testing). Dr. Symes strives to establish a collaborative, working relationship with every individual he sees at Rejuvenate Lees Summit. Dr. Symes is licensed to do telehealth in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia
