I earned my master’s degree in 2005 and had the privilege of interning at the Kaiser Permanente outpatient child/family psychiatry department during my graduate training. Following several years of post-graduate work in various settings, I was offered a full time position at Kaiser psychiatry, where I have spent the majority of my professional career. My speciality for the first ten years of my career was working with teens, parents, and young adults. I have been working with all ages of clientele for the past several years. I have extensive experience in family therapy. My knowledge of family dynamics informs my work as an individual and couples therapist for adults. We all have defenses and patterns of coping that may have been necessary during childhood. However, these defenses can negatively impact our mental health when we carry them into adulthood. I use an eclectic blend of therapeutic interventions, from psychodynamic to solution-focused to mindfulness based. I am trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (aka Tapping) and have used this successfully with clients of all ages to help reduce anxiety, depression, and distress. I have completed the level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, as well as the the Art and Science of Love workshop for couples. Everyone brings their own unique needs to therapy. I look forward to working collaboratively with you to help you improve your mental health, well-being, and overall quality of life. I offer a free 20 minute phone or virtual consultation to determine if we are a good therapeutic fit. Insurances accepted: Aetna, Optum Health (Oxford, United Healthcare, Oscar Healthcare) I offer a sliding scale fee in select circumstances.
