Shanon Cox, MA, LMHC, strives to build a positive trusting relationship with each client to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for collaborative therapy. By looking at each client’s individual situation holistically and seeing the client as the expert in their lives, Shanon capitalizes on the client’s existing strengths to work towards their goals. She challenges clients, working with them to build skills and tools to approach life with hope and confidence. Shanon hopes that upon completion of therapy the client will feel empowered to use the skills that they have learned to navigate future situations. Shanon Cox received her Master of Arts in Applied Psychology from the University of Washington. She received clinical training at Compass Health Child and Family Clinic, working with children, adolescents, and families on a wide variety of mental health concerns. Shanon uses evidence based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with both an anxiety and trauma focus, as well as mindfulness and skill building as a basis for therapy.
