Introduction

Life isn't always easy. At times, things just don't seem right or the way that we would like for them to be. Life can be frustrating, overwhelming, complicated and down-right messy. It is during these difficult seasons that Sharmen would like to come alongside you and offer strength, hope and encouragement within the confines of a safe and therapeutic environment. She offers virtual counseling to clients throughout the state of Alabama via a secure network. It is her mission to serve you with dignity, respect and confidentiality while helping you to reach and surpass the treatment goals you develop together. Sharmen is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and is currently working towards earning her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist credential. She has 15 years of clinical experience helping clients with addictions, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, PTSD, self-harm and school pressures. Sharmen is a member of the Alabama Alcohol & Drug Abuse Association, International Consortium of Alcohol & Drug Counselors, and the International Association of Trauma Professionals. She is also a board member for the Alabama Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals and the Alabama School of Alcohol and Other Drug Studies.
