I am a trauma therapist with over 10 years of experience working with adults with Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders and PTSD and specialize in treating various issues related to trauma including self-esteem/self-image, abandonment and mistrust and dissociation. I am a certified EMDR clinician as well as a Consultant in Training for the EMDR International Association. I'm interested in the narrative way in which people define themselves and come to understand the world and their place in it based upon the the things they have endured. My approach is to shed light on the narrative and in coming to understand it, work to heal old wounds and develop a new, more fulfilling future. I am a warm and compassionate guide, facilitating change in helping you to learn more about yourself including your values, strengths, what unseen factors motivate your decisions and what barriers need to be overcome in order to achieve the life you want. I believe in the transformational ability of therapy to overcome past events and present obstacles both in ourselves and our life to find new strength, resolve and meaning. I believe the road to healing is illuminated through self-discovery. I believe that we all want to improve and we are all working to get unstuck in the places we are stuck. I approach therapy as your guide and from a place of warmth, compassion and genuineness and I believe that in working from the plan we develop together, you can achieve your goals for recovery. I received my Bachelors of Psychology from the University at Buffalo and my Masters of Social Work from Binghamton University. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family as well as reading.
