I want you to think of counseling with me as a self-exploration journey, where you get to work on cultivating the life you want and to work towards removing obstacles that are preventing you from growing or healing. I will work with you on developing realistic and sustainable goals, and to help you identify how you can empower yourself in your day-to-day life. Therapy can help you explore just about any life problem, with possible goals of attaining greater mental clarity around your life, increasing your self-confidence, improving connection with your partner or friends, and experiencing greater levels of acceptance over upsetting situations. I provide secure video therapy sessions or busy individuals in Colorado who may not have the time or desire to travel across town, for those who live in remote areas of the state, and for those who cannot access services otherwise. I also realize that some people feel anxiety, hesitation, or embarrassment about reaching out to a therapist, so video sessions can help to increase your comfort level with this service because you can see me from your our own home or office. MY TRAINING AND CREDENTIALS I am trained in treatment approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Person-Centered Therapy, for a wide array of concerns, such as relationships, anxiety, depression, desire for personal growth, and substance and behavioral addictions. I've been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2010 and Licensed Addiction Counselor since 2014 in Colorado. I am a member of the Colorado Counseling Association. MY FEES As of January, 2023, an initial intake and 50 minute session without insurance will be $150. If subpoenaed for court, I charge $250/hour to the attorneys to prepare to testify and time spent in court. In some situations I might be able to complete paperwork requests, and my fee is $75 per hour and can be prorated per 15 minutes. Late cancelation (less than 24-hour notice)/no show fee: $85 for self-pay clients. Please contact me with any questions. CONSIDERATIONS FOR USING INSURANCE When you use insurance to cover the cost of services, a therapist must provide you a diagnosis in order to justify enrolling you in counseling. A therapist may also have to report to your insurance company your progress and why treatment is continued to be "medically necessary." Additionally, having a mental health disorder diagnosis on your health records could potentially make it more difficult or expensive to get health insurance in the future and could impact security clearances or attaining certain jobs. It can also negatively impact child custody cases. If you have a pending legal case, you may want to consult with your attorney before starting treatment. I encourage all clients to, when possible, call their insurance company to understand their coverage before starting any treatment. I can provide you a superbill to submit for reimbursement of some fees from your insurance company.
