Shawn Whiting has over a decade of experience in counseling including being an outpatient therapist, school based therapist, Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) Program Supervisor, and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team manager. He started Balanced Counseling and Consulting in 2021 to find some more balance in his own life and believes that counseling can be for everyone. Shawn takes a whole person, strengths based approach to counseling. He has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Prospective clients should look into EMDR as this is the primary therapy Shawn uses. Shawn holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of North Dakota. He is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC, License #934) and Board Certified Supervisor in the state of Minnesota.
