As a therapist, I strive to be authentic to who I am as a person. I am honest and upfront with my clients, which they appreciate and respond to. They understand that in session we can celebrate their successes, while at the same time, we can be honest about the necessary next steps to achieving their goals. I believe that my ability to stay authentic enhances client engagement in the therapy process. Over the years, I have learned that people change when the therapist can meet their clients where they are. It is only when we are at the same starting point that I am able to help discover what aspects of their thinking and behavior are hindering them from being who they truly aspire to be.
