Introduction

"Over 10 years ago I left the business world to seek to be of greater service to my fellow human. As a recovering athlete, perfectionist, and addict, I had seen the immense change that was possible by surrounding myself with a team of healing professionals and community. Trained as a marriage and family therapist and substance use disorder professional, I started in the addiction treatment world, ventured on to co-occurring disorders and landed in private practice ready to look at all aspects of behavior and internal struggle. Whether you're suffering alone, in relationship or at work, there is a way out. I would be honored to assist you on your journey." - Shea Shea Scheuler began studying psychology in high school and accidentally, at first, never stopped. While her undergraduate psychology degree was accompanied by additional majors in political science and women’s studies, it was the psychology that kept infiltrating her professional life. Despite spending a decade in the business world of marketing, advertising, operations and business development, Shea continued to feel the pull to return to the helping profession. When she hit thirty she left her advertising job, got sober, and went to work on a new career. After completing her certificate in Chemical Dependency she entered the field as the counselor for a juvenile drug court. The work she did here with adolescents and families solidified her decision to pursue her masters in marriage and family therapy. The pervasiveness of co-occurring disorders and the impact that a comprehensive treatment team can have on the individual stuck with her. Since completing her masters she has worked at all levels of care within addiction and mental health. She has worked with teens, adults, families and professionals. With an attachment and recovery focus, Shea partners with her clients to pursue the changes they desire. Her specialties include addiction and recovery, attachment issues/codependency, professional development and fertility/perinatal counseling. In addition to individual counseling, Shea offers business consulting for those wanting to take their business or professional life to the next level.
