I would like to share a bit about myself. I am a graduate of the Masters of Education Clinical Mental Health Program and Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, which led to obtaining my National Board Certified Counselor license. I also have a State of Texas Licensed Professional Counselor license, which I earned after completing an Associate of Arts in Teaching from Lone Star College and a Bachelor of General Studies with a minor in Psychology, Political Science, and History from Sam Houston State University. During my internship and practicums, I had the privilege of serving the communities of Humble/Kingwood, Polk County, and virtually throughout Texas. My counseling approach is client-centered, meaning that I tailor my techniques to fit each individual or couple. I believe that the client is the expert of their own life and knows what they want and need. Hence, I create a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere where clients can communicate their feelings with confidence. I also believe that small steps lead to big changes, and that growth happens through behavior, emotional, and cognitive adjustments. My goal is to help people reclaim their joy, power, and hope in life. I have experience working with children, adults, couples, and families on various issues, including grief, abuse, and loss. I adhere to the American Counseling Association's Code of Ethics and am a member in good standing of the Chi Sigma Iota and Kappa Delta Pi Honor Societies. I also served as the President of Lamar University's Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota.
