Sheldon Aaron completed his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Eastern Illinois University and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at the University of Central Florida. Due to his current location, Sheldon is only accepting client’s via telehealth. Sheldon is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, a National Certified Counselor, and holds Level-1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. In his clinical work, Sheldon specializes in working with LGBTGEQIAP+ adolescents and adults, and individuals presenting with depression, anxiety, relational difficulties, and general adjustment related symptoms. When working with Sheldon, you can expect to engage in a collaborative relationship where he works to understand your lived experiences and how those experiences shape who you are today. Sheldon leads with compassion, empathy, and humility in his approach to counseling. Sheldon’s hope for you as you engage in therapy with him is that he can provide you a safe space to process the harder parts of life and learn how to move through them. Sheldon was raised in Normal, IL and previously lived in Champaign. In his free time, Sheldon enjoys spending time with friends and family, karaoke, and is a big tv and film buff.
