With over 30 years in human development work, including 17 years in mental health, I specialize in getting to the root cause of behaviors, triggers, and relationship issues. This can result in reduction of mental health issues and can improve overall enjoyment of life. I meet all clients where they are, with acceptance and understanding. Together we come up with a treatment plan to aid each person’s therapeutic growth. About me: Hello, I'm Shelly! I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from St. Edward’s University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language and Auditory Pathology from East Carolina University. My experience includes extensive training in trauma, attachment, Play Therapy, Infant-toddler mental health and EMDR training for children and adults. I have worked in Early Childhood Intervention, Parent Coaching, community mental health centers, churches, child care centers and schools. I love partnering with nature and animals (AAT) in the therapy process. I've been married for over 3 decades. We have a college-aged son and two successful, grown daughters. On our farm we raise miniature dairy goats and care for our horses, chickens, barn cats and our therapy dog in training, Cora.
