Welcome. I am a licensed psychologist in New Jersey (online and in-person) and Massachusetts (online). I offer individual adult therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. My motto is "Pause. Explore. Change." You got to where you are now, which is good - you survived! However, survival mode works in the short term, but not for the long term. You are realizing that you want your life or your relationships to be better. So in therapy, we pause...and ask: is what you are doing serving you? I ask for your permission to pause you if needed, if it looks like you have gone onto auto-pilot. Next, let us explore what is going on - in your thoughts, your feelings, and/or your actions. I ask a lot of questions to be able to truly understand you, but these are out of compassionate curiosity, not judgment. We may find connections to recent life events, to your life history, to your family's history, to the society in which we live. Finally, I help you to make the changes that you desire. I am both empathic and fair-minded, and provide support for you to do hard things, because change is hard, yet important, and that is why you are signing up for therapy. Before private practice, I worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health, medical clinics, and a Veterans' hospital. Approaches I use include mindfulness, family systems, education, psychodynamic therapy, ACT, and CBT. I am strength-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and LGBTQ+ affirming.
