SHIRRIE JONES, LPC, CAADC Shirrie Jones is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Virginia. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from George Mason University, a Master’s Degree in Human Resource with a specialization in Marital, Couples, and Family Counseling a from Capella University. She also has a Graduate Certification Professional Counseling, and is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Shirrie has worked in non-profit, government, and in the juvenile correction system. She has experience in providing therapy to adolescents, individuals, couples, families, and mental health and substance abuse groups. Shirrie has worked with adolescents since 2002; dealing with depression, anger, self-esteem, personal/social issues, conflict management, and risky behaviors. Shirrie also specializes in working with couples who are in conflict and adults with depression, anxiety, stress management, post-partum, grief, bi-polar, LBGTQ, substance abuse, and relationship issues. Being a wife of a retired Marine, she understands the challenges a military family may face and is able to incorporate Christian principals in counseling sessions if requested. She is adept at incorporating Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused, and Person Centered Treatment to create a detailed treatment plan for each client.
