I am a Licensed Clinician Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington, and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist-Individual (CCTSI). I believe in a mind-body connection and have incorporated mindfulness into my practice and in my life. I have a passion for helping others live their best life. I’m involved in a number of community organizations. Through them, I have facilitated groups for developing mental health professionals, including graduate students, and new MSWs. I have experience working with people who have stressful jobs, and work on things such as impostor syndrome, perfectionism, and sometimes, managing the disappointment felt after achieving personal and professional goals. I was born and raised in Canada to parents who immigrated from India. I moved to Seattle in my 20s. I understand the experience of having a different culture/social rules within my family system, and having to learn and navigate a completely different set of rules in North American Culture. I have a passion for supporting People of Color populations, and have the lived experience of being raised in a family whose culture of origin is different than the majority culture. I am skilled at helping people going through life transitions and crisis. This is a second career for me. I started my professional life in Finance/Payroll, HR and IT, with my last position in that career being an HR Project Manager in a large philanthropic organization. I realized when I achieved my career goal that it wasn’t what I had expected, or even enjoyed. Although it was scary, I made the decision to go back to school for a second Bachelors in Psychology (University of Washington) and a Masters in Social Work (University of Washington).
