Dr. Popkin graduated from the combined School-Clinical Child program and Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University, and completed post-doctoral training at Columbia University. Dr. Popkin's training includes psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. Her treatment combines all three approaches and is tailored to meet your individual needs. Dr. Popkin’s approach to therapy is based on getting to know her patients and developing an understanding of that individual in relation to their environment. Her goal is to work collaboratively with patients and provide a safe space for them to develop effective and healthy coping skills in order to make positive, constructive, and meaningful changes. She provides her patients with skills and tools they can use to improve their lives and reach their goals. Dr. Popkin's work with children and adolescents relies heavily on the use of cognitive-behavioral interventions and evidence-based tools. Dr. Popkin is trained to implement The Coping Cat, The CAT Project, and SPACE. These evidenced-based interventions are highly effective in the treatment of anxiety disorders when working with children, adolescents, and their families.
