Stephanie began her career in 1994 as a counselor working in a residential substance abuse treatment program, and her passion for recovery work had only grown over the last 30+ years. Understanding that substance use disorders and mental illness affect both the whole person and the family unit, often for generations. Stephanie's social work experience has taken place in a variety of settings, including outpatient, residential, day treatment, and hospital settings, as well as school-based services. She spent years teaching as an adjunct professor at UWF. Stephanie transitioned into Private Practice in 2019 and currently works with clients struggling with substance abuse, alcohol abuse, depression, anxiety, young adult issues, relationship issues, parenting issues, life transitions, divorce recovery, and codependency. Stephanie especially enjoys working with our local active duty and retired veterans. Stephanie prefers using EMDR to treat both past and present trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and PTSD. Stephanie does not accept insurance when working with couples in couple's counseling. This will be self-pay only regardless of insurance. As an LCSW Qualified Supervisor, Stephanie also supervises LCSW interns. While Stephanie does also provide telehealth, it is critical to note that she is only licensed to provide therapy via telehealth to clients who are in Florida or Alabama.
