Howdy! Believe it or not, I realized my senior year of high school being a therapist was exactly where I wanted to be. Seeing the power of empathetic listening and radical self acceptance was life changing for me, because it really does give people their lives back. I love working with teens and adults especially those who are members of sexual and gender minorities, or just trying to figure it out and need a safe knowledgeable place. As a green country native, investing in the wellbeing of our community has been the core of my work since 2012. I feel privileged as I watch clients discover a life not just with less barriers, but with more joy through the therapy process. I often use Humanistic, Person-Centered, Gestalt, and Emotion-Focused theories as therapeutic models to help clients strive for growth and balance. Additionally, I am trained in CPT, TF-CBT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing. Research tells us, healing is about the relationship between a therapist and a client. For me that means finding ground between our personal cultures and using techniques that make sense for you. To recharge I spend a significant amount of time outdoors whether its gardening where my puppy 'helps' with the weeding, working with the family farm, or going for a hike. I can promise I'll always be distracted by a good conversation about plants!
