Introduction

''It’s like a person building a house by digging deep and laying the foundation on bedrock. When the flood came, the rising water smashed against that house, but the water couldn’t shake the house because it was well built.''(Luke 6:48). Hello! I'm Taya, Owner and Online Therapist of Sound House Therapy, PLLC. I am a BIPOC Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor who specializes in guiding individuals and couples through the complexities of their lives and relationships. I offer a safe and understanding space to explore personal challenges, improve communication, and foster deeper connections. Drawing from my own personal journey as a domestic adoptee, coupled with my training as an adoption-competent therapist, I provide specialized support to individuals navigating the unique aspects of their adoption identity. I understand the nuances of adoption and am equipped to help clients explore feelings of belonging, identity, and family dynamics with empathy and expertise. My therapeutic approach is highly interactive and client-centered. I believe in empowering individuals to take an active role in their healing and growth. Creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment is paramount, where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. I utilize a blend of therapeutic techniques, primarily grounded in Attachment Theory, which emphasizes the importance of secure connections in relationships. Additionally, I incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy, which focuses on identifying and building upon strengths and resources, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which addresses patterns of thinking and behavior, and the Gottman Method, a research-based approach to couples therapy. This eclectic approach allows me to tailor therapy to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual and couple I work with. No need to figure out if we're close enough or squeeze travel time into your schedule. Sessions are offered through secure video conferencing that's extremely user friendly. Take the first step to building your Sound House!
