I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in the state of Washington. I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Whitworth University in 2020. Prior to this, I received a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a major in Addiction Studies and a minor in Psychology from Eastern Washington University in 2016. Between 2016-2018 I gained experience working with adolescents in intensive inpatient and outpatient settings as a Substance Use Disorder Professional. I completed an internship at Spokane Public Schools in 2019-2020 where I worked with adolescents and their families. After graduating in 2020, I worked in a group practice where I served individuals, couples and families until 2022. In my counseling work I come from an attachment and systems lens and believe that healthy relationships with others and ourselves can improve mental health and well-being. The perceptions that we have about ourselves are often shaped by our experiences and interactions with others. When we feel unseen and disconnected from other people, we can experience pain and distress. By creating a validating and affirming space in counseling, people can start to explore and work through these challenges and have a healthier sense-of-self. My specialties are Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder. I am a certified Exposure and Response Prevention Therapist, which is the most evidenced-based treatment for OCD. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR for trauma through EMDRIA. Other therapies I commonly use are Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, Social Mishap Therapy for Social Anxiety Disorder, and other exposure therapies for anxiety disorders. I have received training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Gottman Couples Therapy, and utilize some of these techniques when working with couples. People may reach out to me to receive help with other concerns such as attachment issues, depression, generalized anxiety, Panic Disorder, body dysmorphia, binge eating, religious trauma, addiction, codependency, domestic violence, and other relational issues. I strive to create a validating, non-judgmental and affirming space that incorporates your strengths, and I will work collaboratively with you to achieve your goals. I am grateful for opportunity to get to know you and assist you in your recovery journey.
