Taylor is joining Mental Wellness Counseling as a mental health therapist intern while pursuing a master’s degree in social work at the University of Michigan. With years of experience in various treatment settings, including inpatient and outpatient care for substance use and crisis intervention, Taylor brings a rich background to his role. As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, he is attuned to the unique challenges marginalized groups face. He is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive environment where clients’ feelings are valued. Drawing from his personal experiences with mental health and substance use, Taylor approaches therapy as a deeply collaborative and individualized process. He is especially passionate about supporting individuals dealing with chronic suicidality, anxiety, and trauma. Taylor employs a trauma-informed approach, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques to guide clients on their journey toward wellness. Due to current reimbursement challenges, Taylor can only accept cash-pay clients at this time. Additionally, starting in January 2025, Taylor will be undergoing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and will be looking to work with clients interested in this specialized therapeutic approach.
