From my experience, usually, when people are thinking about going to therapy, they have reached a point in their lives where they are unsure about "what to do" about their problems, or maybe something has happened that is too overwhelming to handle alone. Sometimes they have been wanting to make a change for a long time and are finally ready, but don't quite know how. What they/we all have in common is that we want TO FEEL BETTER - TO FEEL GOOD. Being able to talk about your thoughts and feelings with someone who is unbiased and nonjudgmental, who can provide "tools" and strategies for improving mental, emotional, and physical well-being, may be the key to having a more fulfilling, peaceful, and happier life. I have over 30 years of experience in the mental health field and have been licensed as a counselor in MO (LPC) since 2002 and in Florida (LMHC) since 2012. I specialize in depression, anxiety, co-dependency, self-esteem, and relationship issues. I use of a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, depending on the needs of the client.
