Accepting new clients. I have been in the mental health field for my entire 34-year profession. During this time I have had the pleasure of counseling people in the community at different levels. I believe that people are in a constant state of growth throughout their lives. Learning new skills and techniques that you can use in everyday life is an essential part of that growth. It can increase your ability to function more effectively on a daily basis, as well as provides you with long term coping skills that will bring more enjoyment to your life. I am looking forward to working with you. I utilize therapeutic approaches and techniques to help meet the needs of each individual. Some of these techniques may include relaxation techniques, mindfulness, and guided imagery. I am most interested in helping people develop the skills to build healthier lives and obtain a better sense of themselves during their journey in life. My approach to counseling is grounded in a cognitive behavioral approach that emphasizes taking charge of the changes that a person is hoping to see in their life. I combine both cognitive/dialectical behavioral therapy toward helping a person set up their goals. Like I said, "I am looking forward to working with you. The change you seek can start today."
