I help teens who are struggling with family conflict and attachment disruptions. When parents separate, a family member dies, or family dynamics shift as a natural part of getting older, teens often experience feelings of anger, grief, and anxiety about how their roles and relationships are changing. I use narrative therapy, somatic and attachment-focused techniques and expressive arts activities to support teens in understanding themselves and their relationships. My clients learn how to identify and express emotions and they develop healthy coping skills to use when they feel overwhelmed. As a result, their self esteem improves, they feel less anxious, and they have an easier time communicating with the people in their lives. I also help LGBTQ+ youth and families explore how their identities and expressions inform who they are as individuals and in relationships. Using a combination of narrative and attachment-focused therapy, with an emphasis on building healthy communication skills, I help queer couples facing challenges such as family building or exploring different relationship structures understand one another's perspective and reconnect with their shared values. Through our work together, my clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and how they can communicate about their identities and needs with their families.
