Introduction

Tom is dedicated, resourceful, and a motivated clinical social worker and hypnotherapist who endeavors to best utilize his skills in the areas of counseling and teaching to help people, their families, and our community grow in a positive direction. Areas of expertise include: crisis intervention, trauma, addictions, and family therapy. Tom has worked for over 16 years in the mental health field, 9 of which at an acute crisis management inpatient psychiatric hospital. Tom employs a unique ability to engage, empower, and motivate clients to change their thought processes in order to overcome adversity, and effectively manage psychosocial stressors. Tom received his Master's of Social Work at Barry University and holds a Diploma in Hypnotherapy from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute. Tom is a Clinical Certified Hypnotherapist from the Hypnotherapists Union Local 472. He is also Level 2 Certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a Rational Living Therapist and Hypnotherapist. He is R.O.P.E.S. certified for Team Building and as a Marine Corps veteran, has an acumen for teaching leadership training to groups. Currently, outside of helping to empower clients, Tom seeks to educate other healthcare professionals and to bring about awareness of mental health issues. He is a reoccurring guest speaker for Florida Pediatric Endocrine Nursing Society. His previous talks were on Transgender Youth and Motivational Interviewing. As a Licensed and Master's level social worker, Tom is always looking to listen, lead, teach, build relationships, and network in the field of Mental Health and Community Improvement. Thomas R.
