I am a licensed psychotherapist who provides counseling services to ambitious men with difficulty expressing themselves. I offer in-person and virtual sessions in downtown Summit, New Jersey. I help men in committed relationships effectively communicate with the women they love by developing active listening skills, expressing more than just silence and anger, confronting issues in non-confrontational ways, working through resentment, and learning how to create enough emotional space for both partners. Throughout my experiences in a variety of clinical settings (e.g. mental health agencies, group homes, doctor offices), a common frustration I hear from men is, “whenever I tell my wife I’m upset about something with us, she’ll start to cry, and I end up apologizing, even though I haven’t done anything wrong.” This is a blueprint for how men tend to shut down. Additionally, I have helped clients with depression, anxiety, substance-abuse, grief, trauma, career direction, childhood abuse and neglect, and low self-esteem. My therapeutic approach is Humanistic and Client-Centered, while incorporating strategies and techniques from Existential Therapy. Since most therapists aren't men, I feel honored and privileged to be a healthy male role model for many of my clients by using humor and love as the foundation of my practice.
