T.J. is passionate about supporting young adults to create and achieve meaningful, fulfilling goals. He earned his Bachelor's in Behavioral Neuroscience from Quinnipiac University and his Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairfield University. T.J. is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. He also holds an Advanced Training Certificate in Integration of Spirituality & Religion in Counseling from Fairfield University. T.J. is an expert at working with college aged individuals. T.J. has worked as both an academic coach and as a mental health counselor at Sacred Heart University's counseling center. In addition to being a clinician, T.J. is enrolled at Yale's Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program. T.J. blends his personal experiences of growing up playing a variety of sports including soccer, lacrosse, and semi-professional paintball, as well as his current experiences as a professional musician, into his clinical work. His approach to counseling is relaxed, humorous, goal-oriented, conversational, empowering, and most importantly--effective. T.J. believes that relationship-building is at the core of the work he does and is humbled at every opportunity he has to create meaningful connections with those he works with. Outside of his clinical work, T.J. loves to play music with his band, hike, go to the gym, play video games, and spend quality time with his girlfriend and cat.
