Most of my clients are high functioning people who are struggling with a specific issue in their lives. Some feel stuck due to depression, anxiety, or relationship issues. Some are dealing with a chronic illness. Some are transgender, have a gay child, or are in a marriage with a spouse whose sexual orientation is different than theirs. Many feel frustration or even hopelessness about negotiating their situation in the context of their cultural or religious upbringing, their marriage, or extended family relationships. I am a marriage and family therapist, with a PhD in developmental psychology. I recently retired from teaching at the University of Utah in order to practice therapy full time. I love working with individuals, couples, and families to improve and enhance the important relationships in their lives, increase joy, and find peace. Finding a great therapist is all about personal fit. I work best with people who thrive in a safe, nonjudgemental environment where they are free to explore the issues that are tripping them up.
