Trista has worked with Anxiety Disorders, Trauma Resolution, Dissociation, PTSD, Depression, Burn Out, Stress, Coping Skills, Relational Stress, and General Life Stressors with children, teens, adults, couples and families to empower them to live fulfilling lives and change whatever areas they seek to change. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that has the patient focus on the feelings and trauma of memories that have been unprocessed. This is done through a bilateral stimulation that is typically done through eye movements. EMDR is different from other therapies in that it doesn’t require detailed talking about the trauma and homework in between sessions. EMDR therapy can be completed with fewer sessions compared to other psychotherapies. EMDR is an extensively researched and effective psychotherapy method proven to help everyone from children to adults. In addition to EMDR healing trauma and PTSD, EMDR can resolve other challenges, such as: anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, personality disorders, phobias, abuse and violence, and more. (Cited from EMDR.org) Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples is the gold standard for couples therapy. EFT has been validated by over 30 years of empirical research based on individual growth, health, dysfunction, and of relationship distress and adult love. EFT is a short term structured approach that uses key moments in therapy to facilitate the change process. This expands and re-organizes emotional responses to create positive shifts in partners relation to each other, fostering the creation of a secure bond between partners. EFT is also used to address individual depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress (EFIT – Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy) and to repair family bonds (EFFT – Emotionally Focused Family Therapy). (Cited from ICEEFT.com) Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS) is a comprehensive, strengths-based, and client-centered ego-state therapy. It works through healing childhood trauma and attachment wounds by meeting the needs of wounded child parts to help them get unstuck from the past. This is done through creating and mobilizing a team of loving and comforting internal resources. These internal resources provide the emotional support, radical acceptance, and compassion that wounded childhood parts needed when they were younger but did not receive. As these young wounded parts heal, unwanted emotions, beliefs, behaviors, and urges will leave. DNMS can resolve and treat depressive disorders, complex trauma, attachment wounds, and more.
