Introduction

Therapy looks different for every individual. It can look like helping a teen develop the tools and personal insight to deal with the change of going through high school and then college, working with parents who are struggling with new family additions or stressors, or encouraging a young professional to explore phase of life changes and identifying useful stress management strategies to create their ideal work-life balance. There are times in which personal growth can appear action-packed with significant changes in habits and ways of thinking, and other times in which growth is marked by staying still and acknowledging the present moment. - Perinatal Mental Health & Infertility- The journey of fertility and pregnancy is one filled with significant moments of transition, both physical as well as emotional. For individuals experiencing infertility, as well as those who experience challenging pregnancy symptoms, pregnancy can also feel very isolating. I am a PSI certified (PMH-C) perinatal mental health clinician and have experience working with individuals with infertility, high risk pregnancies, birth trauma, pregnancy loss, NICU parents, and postpartum depression and anxiety. From navigating the emotional rollercoaster of infertility treatments to processing birth experiences and adjustment to new parenthood in the postpartum period, I assist new parents in recognizing and utilizing their strengths to help with and cope in their new roles. - Life Transitions & Stress Management - While change can be a positive thing, it can still be difficult to adjust to. I provide support and strategies to clients so they can better adjust - whether they are promoting from middle to high school, going to college, changing jobs or careers, or experiencing additions or changes in the family. My approach is always to explore and process the current moment, and then to use existing strengths to help build new coping strategies to foster personal growth. - Adolescents - Growing up is so much harder than it sounds. From managing school and/or extracurricular demands, expectations of self and others, navigating interpersonal relationships with peers, considerations for college and/or the future - it can be overwhelming. I have over a decade of experience providing therapy to teens in the middle and high school settings and balance providing strategy-based support with helping teens explore their individual sense of identity and future goals. - AAPI Identity & Mental Health - While our cultural identity is such a significant part of who we are, there is often a lot of conflict, confusion, and avoidance that can occur when it comes to integration of it with our individual identity. As an AAPI therapist, I practice with the awareness of challenges that are specific to our community within the scope of mental health - for example: stigma attached to mental health, minimization of the experience strong emotions, and cultural values and expectations (only to name a few). Therapy is the perfect place to be able to not only explore the concept of one's cultural identity, but to discover a way forward that will enable integration of it that into one's whole concept of self to live a more authentic and meaningful life. - My Role - My role as a therapist is to provide a safe space for you to be able to work through your current challenges, and provide suggestions to strategies that can help you cope. I come from a strength-based perspective and aim to build upon the strengths you already have. Therapy is a collaborative process and you are not in the process alone.
