Hi there! My name is Veronica Cortez, LPC. I obtained my BS in Rehabilitation Studies and MS in Rehabilitation Counseling both from the University of North Texas. I have experience working with college students, in residential substance use treatment, intensive outpatient substance use treatment, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. My areas of focus are mood disorders, anxiety disorders, addiction, trauma/PTSD, and personality disorders. My catch phrase is "almost everything goes back to your childhood" and I believe it is important to explore childhood experiences to gain insight into present issues. From there, we can work to heal past traumas and improve your life. In addition, I also like to include CBT and DBT in sessions to aid in behavioral changes. You made the first step in healing--congrats! You should know that therapy is not an easy process, but it is so rewarding. It is my goal to walk with you on this journey and help you create a more peaceful and meaningful life, whatever that looks like for you.
