I'm a licensed mental health counselor in Seattle (Washington), committed to collaborating with you to explore your personal, relational, and career based concerns, identify the complex layers that contribute to these concerns, and explore healthy coping skills and new responses that invite healing and hope for the future. Over the past seven years, I have had the privilege of sitting with parents struggling through the heartache of divorce, immigrants and children of immigrants who are making a home against all odds, college students fighting dominant culture norms, survivors of marital abuse, and those fighting to escape their childhood trauma. While I have worked in private and community clinics with clients of all backgrounds; today I take particular pleasure in working with adults who identify as helpers, healers, advocates, caregivers, and parents who, laboring to support others, seek support for themselves. I am trained in Relational-Cultural, Gottman Method, EMDR, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral therapies. As an Adult TCK who has immigrated from South India, I hold a trauma-and-culture-responsive lens, and have a special place in my heart for work with South Asians, immigrants, children of immigrants, and anyone who feels like an outsider, trying to make a home. On a case by case basis I also enjoy working with children over age 13, and with families, particularly if you are struggling to find a South Asian or BIPOC clinician, and find me to be a good fit. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in education and non-profits in India, and I am astounded, then and now, by the human capacity for resilience and strength in the face of hardship. I strongly believe that growth, change and healing can happen for everyone, and I see therapy as a way of slowing down enough to allow for that change.
