Introduction

Great to meet you! As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, my background has been painted by the belief in diversity and inclusion. I am an alumnus of St. Thomas University and Carlos Albizu University. My former work has included being a teacher and working with a wide scope of clients of culturally diverse populations and varying ages including individuals and families. Some of my areas of specialization include trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger management, depression, and cultural issues. Here is a bit about my approach to therapy. My therapeutic approach involves helping clients feel comfortable and at home like they are with a trusted friend, reminding them that we have a collaborative partnership. I strive to incorporate my client's interests while mixing a blend of therapy, psychoeducation, tools and skills, encouragement, and life-long resources to help clients feel empowered to meet current and future challenges. During your visit with me you can expect an informal, relaxed, and inviting session. At the end of sessions, my clients can expect to take away encouragement, have teased out solution options to their difficulties, have new resources and skills to use during the week, and skills to directly address their goals as well as resource material as needed to aid them. I make it a point to check in and see what is working and what my clients might want to change during the next visit.
