We are here to assist you in your courageous journey! Vonna Jo Smith, LCSW developed Devine Counseling and Wellness Associates, LLC. After serving in San Antonio for over 20yrs, she knew it is time for additional mental health and wellness services in our beautiful part of Texas. Over the next few months we will continue to add additional insurance carriers. The goal is to help more people get the mental health services and help they need close to home. We will also offer home visits as needed. Many have obstacles leaving home and do not have the transportation needed to get to their medical appointments as needed. Some details of our history...… Vonna Jo Smith, LCSW is a dedicated mental health professional with an extensive background working with adults, older adults, veterans, and caregivers. Vonna Smith earned her bachelor’s degree, with honors, in psychology from Texas A&M San Antonio and with a minor in Special Education. With a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, she is a licensed Master Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Vonna provides counseling and psychotherapy for individuals and families. In her previous work with Alamo Area Agency on Aging, Vonna was a Long-Term Care Ombudsman (advocate) for residents’ rights at nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She also was employed with AACOG as a Certified Benefits Counselor II. In addition, she works with veterans and persons with disabilities to coordinate services with providers. Vonna Smith has worked as a Medical Social Worker with a hospice provider in San Antonio. Mrs. Smith is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Mrs. Smith supports various non-profits including Texas Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and the Alzheimer’s Association. She is also a member of the Alamo Caregiver Support Coalition.
