Hi, I’m Wendy Gorelick, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist supervised by Dr. Thomas Lucking. I have a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. My approach to therapy is collaborative, empathic, and practical—I believe that healing happens in a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported. My style is warm, direct, and authentic, creating an environment where we can do meaningful work together. I specialize in working with adults struggling with anxiety and depression. Challenges such as career stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and unresolved trauma can contribute to emotional distress and feelings of being stuck. I help clients identify the underlying causes of their struggles while developing practical strategies to reduce symptoms, build confidence, and improve overall well-being. Through a collaborative and supportive approach, I empower adults to gain clarity, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change in their lives. I also work with teens facing anxiety and depression. Adolescence can be an especially overwhelming time, with heightened pressures related to academics, friendships, identity, and family expectations. I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where teens can express themselves openly while learning tools to manage emotions, navigate stress, and develop a stronger sense of self. My approach helps teens build resilience, improve self-esteem, and develop healthier ways to cope with challenges. I also have extensive experience supporting those who have experienced trauma, including abuse, neglect, and the lasting effects of war. Using evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, CBT, ACT, and Internal Family Systems, I help clients process their past experiences, build healthier coping mechanisms, and reclaim their lives. In addition to individual work, I am passionate about working with couples. I use research-based approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. Whether you and your partner are struggling with conflict, infidelity, or differences in goals and values, I provide a structured and compassionate approach to help you reconnect and strengthen your relationship. My goal is to help couples break negative patterns, develop deeper understanding, and build resilience together. I also specialize in working with families navigating conflict, including blended families adjusting to new dynamics. Family relationships can be complex, and differences in parenting styles, life transitions, and unresolved tensions can create stress. I help families develop healthier communication patterns, strengthen emotional bonds, and foster mutual understanding to create a more peaceful and supportive home environment. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about the next steps, I’d like to you create meaningful change. I am available for a free consultation to answer questions and give you more information about how I work. and see if we'd work together.
