Introduction

Hi, I’m Xochitl (socheel), and I’m so glad you’re here. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I offer a welcoming, non-judgmental space where children, teens, young adults, and parents can feel truly seen, heard, and supported. With over 15 years of experience working with young people and families in different capacities, including nine years as a teacher and five years as a professional school counselor and school-based therapist, I understand that each stage of life brings its own set of challenges. As a bilingual (Spanish-English) and bicultural therapist, I am passionate about creating a space where individuals from all backgrounds feel affirmed and valued. I also have deep knowledge of special programs and accommodations in public education, allowing me to support students and families navigating school-related concerns. My journey has been shaped by my love for the arts, personal experiences with loss, and navigating major life transitions. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance from The University of Texas at Austin, which gave me a deep appreciation for self-expression and creativity. Later, I pursued my Master of Science in Professional School Counseling and an LPC Bridge from Angelo State University, where I gained the tools to guide individuals through personal growth and healing. I take a person-centered approach, meaning I tailor therapy to your unique experiences and strengths, and I integrate other counseling methods/techniques including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Counseling, SandTray Therapy, and Play Therapy. Whether I’m helping a child process big emotions, guiding a teen through self-discovery, a young adult through life transitions and personal goals, or supporting a parent in strengthening family connections, my goal is to provide a compassionate and empowering space where you can grow and heal at your own pace. You don’t have to have everything figured out—sometimes, the first step is simply having someone to walk alongside you. If you’re ready to begin this journey, I’d love to connect.
