Transitional Therapy, LLC was founded by Yaschia Kinsey. Ms. Kinsey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. Ms. Kinsey has over 13 years of experience in the mental health field. In 2008, she obtained her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She also has a Certification as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). Ms. Kinsey is passionate about helping adults navigate difficult transitions in life. Ms. Kinsey believes that everyone is "growing" through a transition in life. Some of us are trying to figure out how to navigate family issues, work issues, parenting issues, grief and loss etc. Our life issues can sometimes make us feel overwhelmed, anxious and depressed. Ms. Kinsey uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) to help individuals, families and couples reach their desired goals for change. Ms. Kinsey believes the clients are the experts on their life issues and her job is to provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can completely be their authentic self and live up to their greatest potential.
