The five (5) stages of a divorce are:
Anger and dissatisfaction
Making the decision to divorce
Dissolving the marriage
Acceptance
Moving forward
Anger and dissatisfaction happen in many marriages, but sometimes, these emotions can't be resolved through counseling or therapy. It can be hard to make the decision to divorce a partner, but it's an important step in a divorce. Legally, a partner must file for divorce and decisions need to be made about property, children, and finances. After the divorce is final, the person needs to accept that the marriage is over. After acceptance, the person can move forward in their life with a new partner or situation.
