Psychotic behavior could be attributable to a person having a psychotic episode.
A psychotic episode is typified by deranged thinking, speech, and behavior, often manifesting as hallucinations (seeing and hearing things that other people do not hear or see), delusions (false beliefs), difficulty distinguishing reality from fantasy, disorganized thinking, and odd and inappropriate behavior.
