When stressful things happen or when emotional needs are not met, especially during childhood, a person can experience feelings of sadness, anxiety, and low self-esteem as an adult. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a form of trauma-focused therapy that helps people heal the root of what is causing depression and anxiety in the moment. I am trained by EMDR-HAP (Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs) and I am working towards certification in EMDR. I can provide a form of EMDR that is called the Early Trauma Protocol, which focuses on healing emotional wounds from early childhood. At the beginning phases of therapy, I use several questionnaires in order to assess clients properly. Clients who choose to do Early Trauma EMDR will complete additional questionnaires both at the beginning and at the end of treatment in order to measure progress. Clients who choose to do Early Trauma EMDR will receive an informational report that provides them with information about their attachment style after completing the first set of questionnaires. My availability at this time is Saturdays-only. Occasionally, I may be able to provide telehealth on certain evenings, but not consistently. My therapy practice is not set up to be a crisis service and if you are in need of crisis-level supports, please go to the Emergency Room, call the police to request help for a mental health crisis, or call 988 (The National Suicide Prevention hotline).
